Sheet Metal Fabrication Factory

Opened on September 29 the new Sheet metal fabrication factory - is already the fifth Skonto Plan Ltd factory in Tukums settled in industrial area of the company, and it will be one of the largest and most modern factories in Latvia, which provides the latest and most advanced production facilities in one place. The project was implemented in cooperation with the Latvian Investment and Development Agency by investing three million euros.

With the new factory the Skonto Plan Ltd will be able to complete all facade finishing works on its own. Technical equipment of the new plant will allow to complete other till now not practiced metal works.

Mr.Guntis Ravis co-owner of the Skonto Plan Ltd says: “By starting construction of the new plant, we told that we are constructing foundation not only for new building but also for development of national economy of region and Latvia as a whole. Now, when the factory is completed, we can prove it. In the new factory 20 employees have started their work, of which six are technical engineers, and in the nearest future the number of employees will be increased up to 50. We expect that 90% of total production we will export to the European Union countries as well as to former Soviet republics. While the planned turnover of the first year is around 2 million and henceforward during each year providing a 20% increase. "

Mr.Andris Ozols Director of the Latvian Investment and Development Agency (LIDA) on the opening ceremony of the factory emphasized that the sheet metal factory of Skonto Plan Ltd is proof that there is a future for those companies which are constantly developing and evolving, while the LIDA with state aid and EU funding instruments only helps to entrepreneurs to implement a new and ambitious plans.
